Waterside HOA
Annual Meeting
February 9, 2008

The 2008 meeting of the Waterside HOA was conducted at the Alpharetta branch of the Fulton County Public Library.  This meeting commenced at 11:15am and was open to residents of the Waterside community.

Mark Carroll (MC) and Jason Isenberg (JI) began the meeting with an overview of the opening of the pool and how the current drought situation has affected a possible opening this summer.  As of the date of the meeting, Governor Purdue has left the final decision to allow the filling of community pools to the local city governments.  MC has contacted the City of Milton regarding this issue several times, but has yet to receive a determination from the City.  Once the City does make a determination, the Waterside Board of Directors will instruct Today Management to issue written notice to all residents.  If the community is prevented from opening the pool due to the drought situation, the funds allocated to that purpose will be used instead for a community party and for pool area maintenance.

MC next discussed the Board’s current attempt to have a streetlight installed at the corner of Crabapple Road and Green Road.  A new streetlight is scheduled to be installed within the next month.  MC petitioned the county and city for a traffic light, but this request was denied.

Next, JI and MC discussed potholes on streets in the community.  The HOA has lobbied the City for corrective action, and has been promised that the City will fix the potholes, but this could take up to one year to complete, as the City must budget for these repairs.

MC and JI next reviewed the issue of speeding in the neighborhood.  City of Milton police have been, and will continue to be stepping up patrols in the neighborhood and will issue citations for speeding, failing to stop at stop signs, and making u-turns at intersections within the community.

Next, a brief review of the recent amendments passed by the community were discussed.  The board reminded residents that those with commercial vehicles must notify Today Management of such prior to February 29, 2008.

Finally, the issue of HOA Board of Director positions was addressed.  There were not enough attendees at the meeting, including residents who provided proxy votes, to have a quorum at the meeting.  Therefore, pursuant to the Waterside HOA bylaws, Mark Carroll and Jan Stechschulte, both of whose Board terms were to expire, resigned from their positions as President and Treasurer, respectively.  Jason Isenberg, as Secretary, thereafter re-appointed both to new terms, which will run until 2010.

The meeting was concluded at 12:15pm.
